94.9 The Rock and Ed the Sock’s All-Night Show are proud to announce Socktoberfest 2024- an audience appreciation event to benefit the homeless!

Hosted by All-Night Show host and Canadian icon Ed the Sock, Socktoberfest will blow the

doors off the Biltmore Theatre with great music & hijinks on October 24, 2024 from 7-11PM.

The All-Night Show is the newest chapter in the remarkable career of Ed the Sock, which began on community television in 1987. Featuring talk, tunes and tomfoolery weeknights from midnight- 5AM, the All-Night Show has revived and reinvented overnight radio.

Attendees of Socktoberfest and members of the Nighttime Neighbourhood (Ed’s overnight

audience) will participate in on-stage games, performances and contests and music will be

provided by special guests Blamethrower and rising radio rockers Highteens!

Admission to this 19+ event is free but attendees are strongly encouraged to bring new socks for the homeless, as well as gently used winter clothing and boots. Winter is fast approachin and we want to help our less-fortunate community members stay warm.

Socktoberfest is supported by Durham Region’s Street Outreach Program, and they will be

collecting and distributing all donations.

“I Can’t wait for Ed to do what he does best and entertain people,” says The Rock’s program

director/afternoon drive host Doug Elliott. “It’s one thing to listen to his show every night but Ed the Sock live on-stage is a truly unique experience.”

“Socktoberfest started out as just a funny name and has snowballed into something much

bigger, says event creator/organizer Ed the Sock. “People want to help the less-fortunate but don’t know how to do it - Socktoberfest has given them a way and now I can’t keep track of all the people offering their services and gathering socks and clothing for our homeless community.

This is gonna be big. What did I get myself into?!”

Socktoberfest will energize Oshawa on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 7PM - 11PM at the

famed Biltmore Theatre at 39 King Street East in Oshawa.

And yes, you will be able to take selfies with Ed the Sock!
