Work Status: Temporary Contract (12 months)

Location: Edmonton, AB (Hybrid)


About the role:

Corus Edmonton radio stations are looking for a full-time 12-month contract for a Brand Associate to join their Promotions and team. Reporting to the Regional Promotions Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing station promotions, marketing efforts, and community events for our Edmonton radio stations, while also providing leadership to the Promotions Coordinators and Street Team. This role will focus primarily on CISN Country 103.9 and will also work closely with our sister Station, Country 105 in Calgary. Support when necessary, will also be given to CHUCK @ 92.5 and 880 CHED. 


You will contribute by:

• Participating in cross-functional teams to plan and execute all aspects of promotions, station events, and charitable/community partnerships for our Edmonton radio stations.

• Implementing promotions/contests, writing promotional announcements, creating and scheduling social media content, informing talent of contest details, listener correspondence, and prize fulfillment.

• Building and reviewing promotional proposals through collaboration with promotions and radio programming teams.

• Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Edmonton Radio Promotions Department and ensuring the team is meeting deadlines and supporting Programming and Sales teams.

• Attending brand specific and sales meetings as the promotional lead and spearheading local cluster proposals to ensure timelines are met and executed.

• Working closely with leadership on station promotions and marketing initiatives to create revenue generating opportunities specific to the Country format.

• Attending and overseeing key Station events and broadcasts.

• Participating in developing promotional assets including writing of station promos, liners, imaging for events, Social Networking, Listeners Club e-blasts, and website updates.

• Maintaining promotional inventory, station signage, equipment, supplies, vehicles, and related documentation.

• Staying on top of the latest social trends to create content in a timely manner.

• Shared oversight of street team (including coaching, training, scheduling, onsite coordination of events, setting up promotional activations or remote broadcasts, etc.)

• Monitoring trends and adjustments in the market / industry to capitalize on promotional or marketing opportunities.

• Respond in a timely manner to audiences when they have questions, inquiries, or comments on our content or brand.

• Building and maintaining relationships with clients and community organizations.


Skills and experience you will bring:

• Post-secondary education related to broadcasting, promotions, or marketing

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in radio promotions, marketing/promotional events

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to lead junior colleagues or project teams.

• Creative thinker with great ideas and execution follow-through.

• A love of Country Music and Lifestyle is a plus! 

• Tech savvy and able to learn new programs quickly. Proficient in Microsoft Office, WordPress, email database systems, prizing software, etc.

• Graphic design and video editing skills would be an asset.

• The ability to deal with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as within a team environment.

• Organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task under constant deadlines.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• A valid driver’s license with a clear driving record.

• Must have a flexible schedule - this role may occasionally involve working a variety of shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be available for key station events throughout the year.
