Part-time (14 hours per week)

APTN is looking for a creative Camera Editor who has a passion to showcase their work in the broadcast industry and who values their independence while enjoying the chance to meet new people when looking for that perfect “shot”? Highlights of this opportunity:

·       Join a team that provides coverage of the issues facing Indigenous communities locally, nationally and worldwide;

·       Operate cameras and broadcasting equipment for newsgathering, shooting of interviews, b-roll, live stand-ups, stock footage, etc.;

·       Incorporate internet-based and user-generated content for editing as required;

·       Operate linear and non-linear editing systems and digitizes material;

·       Conduct live double-ender interviews from studio or remote locations as required;

·       Collaborate with team members and work well independently;

·       Perform required requests to and from all APTN formats;

·       Assists other team members and carries out other duties as needed and assigned;

·       Contribute ideas for better visual storytelling.

 

Your accomplishments and experience include:

·       Diploma or certificate in a relevant discipline combined with proven related experience, and traditional knowledge;

·       A valid driver’s license and a clear driver’s abstract;

·       Knowledge of office software and broadcast industry technology;

·       Experience with news line-up script writing software is an asset;

·       Broadcast experience is an asset;

·       Experience working with an Indigenous organization as well as knowledge of Indigenous cultural perspectives is an asset.
