Creative Writer – BC, AB, NT, ONT

Reporting to the Director of Creative Services, the Creative Writer will be responsible for developing solid advertising strategies, creating and developing commercial and promo scripts for local radio stations and all Vista Radio properties. This position will be based in a Vista Radio station appropriate the success


Responsibilities:

Create and develop solid advertising strategies that effectively target the local audience.

Develop commercial and promo scripts for local stations and all Vista radio properties.

Implement superior creative writing and advertising skills to create compelling content that resonates with the target audience.

Maintain a high level of knowledge of local and regional news, community events and competitive media within and outside of the market.

Maintain a high level of initiative/self-motivation, and goal-oriented performance to achieve the desired outcomes.

Maintain knowledge of v-Creative, WideOrbit, and Microsoft 0365 products to manage and track advertising campaigns effectively Maintain strong communication skills verbally, written and social media to collaborate with team members and clients effectively.

Ability to relate to the local target audience and understand their preferences, behaviors, and culture.

Demonstrate conceptual, creative thinking and problem-solving to come up with innovative ideas for advertising campaigns.

Must enjoy a fast-paced work environment that is based on team & individual effort and handle pressure effectively.

A positive, friendly manner and customer service approach to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Advertising, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in creative writing for radio advertising.

Proficiency in vCreative, Wide Orbit and Microsoft 0365 products, and other relevant software.

Strong understanding of advertising principles and practices.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

A positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow in the role.
