Job Overview

ZoomerMedia is looking for a Creative Writer to join our team. This is a hybrid role, requires at least 2-3 days in our Owen Sound studios. Only those who live in the area or within a reasonable commute to Owen Sound should apply. 

This position reports to: Director of Regional Sales, and Program Director,/General Manager Radio

Key Responsibilities

Writing scripts for commercials, promos, and imaging for our upcoming station in Owen Sound, as well as for The New Classical 102.9 FM in Collingwood.

Assisting with creative projects from our head offices and covering for existing staff during vacations.

Scheduling and maintaining commercials in Wide Orbit.

Providing additional writing support for shows and websites as needed.

Please note that the responsibilities outlined above are not an exhaustive list and may be subject to change based on business needs.

Ideally, You Have

A creative, self-starter eager to take on a new opportunity.

Resides in the Southern Georgian Bay or Bruce-Grey region, or is within a reasonable commute. 

Has experience writing radio commercials, promos, and IDs.

Understands ZoomerMedia’s values and audience.

Preferably has experience in a station’s production department and a demo reel showcasing relevant skills.

Experience directing voice talent and comfortable in a client-facing role is a plus.

Familiarity with Pro Tools or similar audio editing software is beneficial.
