Larry Updike, whose impressive radio career includes induction into Manitoba Broadcaster’s Hall of Fame has passed away. He was 69.
Updike was also awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Medal for his work with the War Amps.
Just last week he announced he was dealing with colon cancer. Last weekend he posted his father's day wishes to his 92 year old dad.
Upkike's popular Tom and Larry with co-host Tom McGouran ran on POWER 97 and CITI FM in Winnipeg. The duo later revived the show as a podcast.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary-Ann, and son, Gordon.
